I know this car, I know the guy that used to own it at the time. He sold it a short while ago. Most of the description is quite correct, however if memory serves me correctly it had a Penske Chev motor in it ( I don't know if this was a F5000 item at the time) but I would imagine any thing that Roger Penske had a hand in would be a screamer. The part about the missing log book is quite likely correct as his business premises was totally destroyed in a fire a while ago and most, if not all his personal effects along with it. The car has been in a time warp in the back of the transporter it was placed in after its last race, probably about 1987 as the listing says. If anyone is contemplating purchasing the car I can put you in touch with him, he is not the person offering it for sale on MY105, it is being onsold at best offer.
I could be interested and as he knows the CAMS log book number, I would need to know previous owners..(CAMS could provide that)..if it is what I think it is....it could be very collectable.

The Rogers car is in Qld and known Rohan...but it looks like a John Sheppard (Fatty G Mustang,Thompson VW Chev, HDT 78-80) built car from an F5000...I have an inclinging and yes they used the Rogers guard moulds to make this car...hence the familiar shape....interesting..it needs a lot of work...but....Is that the ex rogers one?

I also noticed everyone missed the MOBIL race car in the shed behind as well.
R
The rear axle carriers are definately McLaren F5000.

Nope, I spotted it too....
So who's gonna buy this thing and bring it back to life?
Looking forward to the sports sedan series coming back that would be awesome.....
