well to answer you both i have the same interior as the real car courtesy of an slx 6 banger in lovely beige paint spew spew but i dont know ill just leave it out i think . ill just have the seat and harness.a mildly worked 308 a proper cast iron old school engine they still go ok .my theory is no point having an engine thats faster than me it will go forever its no fun going home with a blown donk or having your head under the bonnet all the time .a t5 out of a vl is strong enough for me. im not into burnouts and shock loads.a 3 inch dia tailshaft to a 10 bolt salisbury with a 3.55 limo will do i havent blown one yet but if it goes then ill just stick a 9 inch under it and that solves that.wheels for now i have a set of black 15x8 v5s with 225 r888s for hillclimbs the black v5 16x9 and 16x10 with the 255 r888s will do for the supersprints.the cage just has to get put in and the drop tank should be a lot of fun .im a torana man but dunnydoors handle .with that power steering just beaut.off to the signwriters why does it allways piss down when you do stuff like thisAttached File  27052010011.jpg   358.82K   25 downloads

no it was just an alabaster white did i spell that right? and blue interior v8 4 speed sl.
and the signwriting done by a bloke in goulburn was hand painted just like the original.
its nearly finished been slack with the updates.
recent work includes
replacing weather strips
bailey channels
door rubbers
drivers door internals they were rooted
removing the interior even the dash and replacing with the correct chocolate/beige doortrims and brown dash and steering column from my donor 202/auto slx.
removing the power steering rack and replacing with the manual one from the slx
even found an identical to brockies steering wheel on my old hz kingy you can be lucky sometimes
removing the 10 bolt and replacing with a 3.7, 9 inch limo with vn discs and calipers.
sending the 15 x 8 inch v 5's to get turned into 16 x 9's to fit the toyo ra1 245/45/16's for the front and 255/50/16's for the back
installing the rollcage that forum member 'RUTS' kindly supplied.
rebushing the panhard
bendix ultimates all round.refurbishing the callipers.
slotted rotors
adjustable konis on the rear
removing the old fuel tank and replacing with a sydney speed alloy tank placed in the boot.
a dummy alloy cover to mimic the drop tank.
removing the whole park brake system.
finding and fitting tinted headlight protectors courtesy of darrin at hdt at narellan
the engine an old school 308 stroker probably a 331 i think again courtesy of RUTS is nearly complete possibly 2 weeks .
so ive been busy.
all that is left is the stage 2 turbo 350 from a and t racing
the 3 grand 9 inch stally
finding the correct ride height
front struts and camber kit
1/2 inch fuel line and pumps
ceramic coating the extractors
standard 2 piece tailshaft will suffice for now
and basically putting it back together
auto yes this car will be for hillclimbs and drags.its basically the same setup as my white 4 door was and i loved that car. ill use the hatch for the circuit work but if ever the need arrises i can easily chuck some 3.00's in the diff and off we go.
i am fingers crossed for the 22nd of october when we go to wsid but if not next year

ill try to get some pics up
