Gday
Interested in knowing is there a difference in the dash wiring harness from LH SL torana to the SLR torana dash. Ive hooked it up with the SL wirering and the tacho needle is jumping up and down. Any help would be grateful cheers red1a

there was an issue that a few people had with those tacho's and i'm pritty sure it had something to do with loose wiring either power or ground
apart from that hopefully someone with an slr dash will jump in and shed some light

Hi
Back in 1982 I purchased a new SLR dash wiring harness only to find out I needed 1 extra wire for the tacho and different senders.

Boy have I wasted some money over the years, but I have learnt a lot.

Sold the harness for 10% of what I paid  .

I have been an Electrician for over 20 years now.

Cheers
Jaimie

did the SL have a tacho or a clock?
if it had a clock theres your problem, if it had a tacho, check the wire is not damaged and shorting out.
