I am wondering if anyone has done headlight & taillight conversion for a UC hatch to LX front and rear. I am looking at doing this for 2 reasons, that the rear lights on a UC look terrible (although they have been frenched on this car, so they are less ugly) and for resale. It is worth me doing as it is a half chassied shell and I will be shooting pretty high in the quality stakes so being able to buy new parts from rare spares is a bonus.

I have heard the front end only requires a new radiator support panel to accept all LX panels.

Any ideas?

Also need inner guards, all of which need to be welded in.

Pull your tail lights apart and paint the reflector silver instead or orange and they will calm down to more like LH/LX tonings.

Rodomo: Cant see the toning down effect from the photo(that car grows better looking each day), does it make a big difference.....does it stop them looking so bulbous?Just to clarify its silvered(matt silver) or chromed?
Legalities? if they are still orange and red, should be okay.....based on all the new variants with coloured bulbs clear lenses etc. Of is them some reg on the reflector surface for tail lamps?

It doesn't make a huge difference, mainly takes away the "beacon" effect. The paint I used was just "aluminium" colour spray pack I had laying around in the shed. With out digging all my R.W.C legalities I remember the basics are red for stop and park lamps and amber for indicatiors. I look at some of those newer clear lamps and wonder how they ever got past ADR's as if the sun is on them they are hard to see.

More pics needed please, not enough to tell whether those round tail lights look better.

Cheers

They might not be what he has used.. but you can get some similar type lights from:

http://www.ledautolamps.com

These LED arrays are priced fairly well when compared to most other manufacturers
