G'day guys, was just wondering if LH/LX need specific extractors for a 253/308 or can a set from a different model Holden like a HQ or VC commodore etc can be used also.

I know LC/LJ six cylinder extractors are different to HQ etc so I thought i'd better check before i buy any.

Cheers

Apparently Commodore extractors don't fit.
Apparently HQ extractors do fit.
Haven't tried it myself, but that's what I've been told.

Apparently Commodore extractors don't fit.

Confirmed with Experience.

Won't fit, if it came out of an early commodore, you need to get some LH/X Torana fitting extractors.

The HQ extractors wont fit (pacemaker) they do on left bank but its too tight
on the right (steering colonm and clutch cable linkage) save yourself the headache
and get the right set. Good luck Baz

I have got Lc/Lj genie 308 pipes in my LX. Did a straight sway from the LJ to the LX with no problems.

You need Torrie ones, none of the others will fit. Even with the Torrie ones, there is bit of a trick to fitting the right hand ones without slicing your flexible steering link to bits. Got to put it in from under the car going straight up, then leveling it to horizontal once you've past the steering link. Going straight down from the top may also work, but I haven't done it that way (luxury of a pit).

Genie's are the same as HT-HK as i was told today

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are about LUKEY headers???
Was quoted $640 for genie's, $630 for Pacemakers and $435 for Lukey's!!!!

$200 difference is big, and can go towards other things.... but is it worth it?

*sorry for the hi-jack*

Genie and HM appear to be the most popular brands. Must be a reason...

True... but one could say the same thing about milo tin mufflers on wrx's!

What are HM???
Im not really after performance, just something to fit as standard cast manifolds are nowhere to be found.

They make extractors. Greg ( 82911 ) swears by them. I was happy when I used them 20 years ago.
