Ive got a vs lsd that i want to shorten to use in my lx hatch. I was just wondering what price i would be looking at to get the diff shortened, what exactly has to be done? i know i have to get the mounts changed, diff cut shorter and get shorter axles for it, what else has to be done? roughly how much do these things cost?

thanks

if you search through the "price list" section in Mc Donald Bros racing there are prices listed for what your asking. Hope that helps.

I've found their prices to be about the same as most other suppliers/repairers, on some of there bits they seem to be quite good as far as price, particularly the bits they make themselves

something totake note however, when shortening axles, there needs to be sufficient length there in the first place. Hope this is clear.
There is a minimum length that must be cut off when shortening an axle. If the length required is in between the original and minimum cut, you will need either a longer axle of the same type or a new axle altogether.

Correct me if I am wrong please. Max

i get what your saying max, that might be a problem as a vn diff wouldn't have to be shortened all that much. does anybody know what the minimum is?
thanks. steve

Different companies may have slightly different methods and therefore minimum lengths. Best place to ask would be a place you're considering consulting for the actual work.

About $2k fully converted to Torana. Little bro does them. Here's a pic. Includes Torana pick-up points.

This is a Pintara BW, not shortened, with Commodore stud pattern which takes wheels out to the guards, but probably over track for normal road rego. Stupid conservative rule, but this car aint destined for the road.
