After asking a heep of questions to get an idea of were to look first for this shid house bottom end power. I got pissed last weekend and decided to tear down my motor.

Top of the pistons were black with carbon and the chambers combletely covered, checked my cam timing out and my inlet valve was actually opening on the down stroke on number one.

When the crank was fitted, the dodgy engine builder was told to dial my cam in and thats as close as he got, lol

All these questions about my cam specs and the cam wasnt even dialled in properly. Any how cam is set to 58thou lift at TDC as per the spec sheet and now im waiting for my dizzy to come back after being curved to suit my cam.

Lets see how this engien goes once i fit that aswell.
Just letting you all know that i found the problem i was looking for, and dont go to this engine builder, lol

Cheers

He must have built it using the Max Ellory manual. Apparently, you will have the cam out by two links on the chain if you follow the instructions.

Just fitted my curved dizzy and WOW, wat a difference. power is very responsive and accurate straight from take off.
I didnt think it would make a great deal of difference, but once doing it i cant keep the thing in a straight line.

cheers

hell no, definately the cam timing, dizzy was th eicing on the cake.
I drove the engine without the exhaust done wen the cam timing was first set and it went great, then it had another crank fitted and was fugged after that.
