Hey guys,

I have set up a Facebook group dedicated to Catalina Park Raceway. My goal is to gather as many fans and supporters of the track as possible and then try to convince the relevant authorities to fix it up and reopen it. I know it's a long shot but it's worth a try. Please guys I need all the support I can get so if you can get behind me that would be great :)

Great idea, but the owners of the place now are not interested in it's racing history at all, their interests are much further back in history.

You're right. The hardest thing about it would be convincing them to let us do it. There's no need to erect any permanent buildings on the site. All it needs is a resurface and new barriers. Hopefully I can get enough people with the passion to do this together.

I joined, I used to live up there and have walked round it a few times. Would be a great track.

I just joined.Good on you for showing an interest,i was lucky enough to take my old car around it in the early 90s.
I do think however they would rather see the bush reclaim it than preserve it as a race track.

Thanks mate. I may only be young but my automotive interests are well and truly old school. They may rather see the bush reclaim the track but would they also rather have revheads driving like mad bastards on the public streets there? The Blue Mountains needs something to keep the motoring enthusiasts happy and sane. I drove up there only last week and I couldn't believe the fact there is absolutely nothing to keep us car lovers entertained. Plus on top of that think of the revenue the community could make. Roughly $100 for ten laps? I'll pay that and probably so would half of NSW.

It is a shame to see it the way it is now , the Aboriginal community apparently prefer locals to take their shitting dogs there , Christine and I were lucky enough to be in the last group of six Toranas , to use the full track . I joined !

I joined as well but can almost guarantee it wont happen, the price to re surface the track and to build it up to spec with safety barriers etc now would be well into the Millions. I would LOVE to see it happen but sadly doubt it very much.
