I had about 20mm plus slack in the steering so set out on a mission today to fix it. The rack was a reco from A2 so I was happy it was a good one. I changed the 2 SLR steel knuckles to 2 with no movement and I am now down to a go kart!! 1/2mm non movement if that.!! I am stoked!! Did an oil change while I was there and finished the alloy drop tank fitting. The XU1 diff is nearly ready to go in so all is done when that is done!. If you have steering play..chase it! it aint supposed to be there! And it is a different car to drive now,

"LOL" hur rorym i hate even the littlest bit of play! and i cant stand
driveing a car with a stuffed frontend :D

If you got big fat tyers and v8 up front. The rack flogs out a bit faster.
then when runing a six / standed tyers . we used to mod
peugeot steering racks in the speedway torrys years ago.

cant wait to see that wepon in the flesh rorym

cheers....dave

Dave, its only 22 lbs more/ 10kg. No slack at all now, its bliss!I want your wheels in 13". Get your butt up to Wheels on Wide Bay 24/25 June. All Torries owners get to park and hang in my pit. I need all the support I can get. NOS, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

Theres not that much inside them anyway, isnt it just a couple of bushes to told the rack in place? Thats what appeares wrong with mine anyway, the rack moves up or down before it moves side to side. I was thinking about just machining up a couple of new bushes at work and getting some new boots for it. Is it that simple or not?

What you got them all ready bloody hell you dont mess around LOL"
thay look wicked

the peugeot racks need a lot of mods to the k member and the rack its self
we uses to cut the racks in the middle of the housing alloy weld them
and then cut the ends down on the rack its self then we made new steering arms
with rose joints

I thought they were either 15 or 16. I reckon 15s give a good look on the LC/J. They are big enough, but dont look too big
