got sent this....
This was taken last week on Old Northern Road Albany Creek, but not sure who by. It has about 2 tonnes of concrete blend and 20kg bags of cement in the back. A very expensive exercise, as a Department of Transport vehicle also arrived at some stage … probably to offload a hefty fine.

Ouch, that does look expensive, get a truck mate, not a toy ute.
Looks like the disc is still attached to the mag wheel,
that is a FAIL.

The ute has a payload of around 710 kg. That fact that it survived any amount of time when loaded with 2400 kg is a testament to the build strength.

I think a prison sentence for the driver would be reasonable.

The Landscape supplies (pretty sure I know which one it will be) he got that load from will probably be investigated for loading or allowing him to overload his ute. Failure in their duty of care or something like that.

It must have been riding on the bump stops! I had a VSIII S pack ute just like that one, and even with 300kg on the back they dragged their arse. I had 2 x pallets of bricks (about 1600kg) on the back of my Overlander 1-tonner and it handled it OK, but it also had 7 leaf rear springs, plus heavy duty front leafs too!

yeah youre right. i laboured in a steel yard in uni holidays and had to be careful when loading utes etc when they came in as we could get into a heap of trouble if they left and anything happened due to the load they were carrying not being safe.

We had about 1t worth of rocks in the back of my old mans VU ute, lowered on 18s, Ive got a photo somewhere, but it didnt even ride too bad, tyres were well in the guard (was tucking rim!)

2t+ is a bit much though!

I wuz unda thu impression these "so called utes" were only designed for circuit work at the local B&S Balls etc. And not really made for lifting BIG weights..

ls2lxhatch said it!!

And the funny thing is that payload INCLUDES THE PASSENGERS!!

If you need to move stuff.. tow it.. or get a vehicle suitable!
