Hi all.
I am in the process of extending my chassis rail for a double cab pick up truck. Now, being in South Africa, the terminoligy we use is different. What I would like to know is when you guys talk of "the flange area of the chassis rail", what exactly is that. I'm trying to identify the "flange area" because, it is said that one should steer cleer of this area as far as possible when cutting the rails and adding a peice in. when talking of "moment", I assume that this means preassure at a specific point. Please excuse my ignorence .... and spelling....LOL.

My aim is to take a double cab pick up and, because of such a small bin space, extend the chassis and replace the small bin with a long wheel base bin. I know that I will have to raise the suspention in order to get the original ground clearence back again, as prior to the extention. Has anyone done this or thought of it? What else apart from the Propshaft(driveshaft I think it's called), electrical wiring, brake and fuel pipes?
I also know that my steering arc will be wider.

Attached is a idea of what I want.

Anyone got some ideas or know how?
Thanks.
