I want to put some type of "race" seats and hanesses in my LJ but I'm not really sure yet. At first I was going for a pair of fixed back seats like OBX Daytona's but then I can't get people in the back, does anyone have pictures of LJ's with either seat, fixed back or reclining?

And if I used harnesses, where would they have to be anchored? It's an LJ 2 door.

Harnesses must be anchored to the parcel shelf AFAIK. And if you have Harnesses let's just say that it's not easy to get people in the back anyway.

It's not legal, and it's not safe, but I've been in coupes with fixed seats. I was in one of those tiny late '60s Corollas one time with fixed Recaros (these are really small cars) and for the whole trip I felt worried that if this car tipped over, I wouldn't survive.

Thankfully an LJ is larger than that, but you won't be able to register it without reclining seats in the first place.

Have you seen the new street machine, the cover car has the harnesses mounted on the roll cage bar running behind the seats. Im with Heath, harnesses need to be mounted into the parcel shelf so in the event of an accident it doesnt act as a crushing device seeing as how collar bones are one of the weakest bones in your body.

Ill post pics of my seats when theyre in (theyre recaro style seats from just jap imports) but I wont have any of the build up cause someone else is putting them in and making the mounts

you can have non reclining seats in a coupe, only if the rear seats are removed permanantly, therefore there is no need for anyone to get into the back of the car.

I am selling a set of retrimmed Monza's that are retractable if you are interested!

They have been retrimmed in black vinyl.

This is the new preferred CAMS mounting method, although they still do allow mounting to the parcel shelf as well.

A majority of the aftermarket seats are not FIA or AS compliant anyways, i.e. can't be used for racing. That would be my biggest concern.
