Hi. I assume it's just a tar based product? If so, I always make sure there is at least etch primer down first. It doesn't have to be primed over, but it can be.

which part of the floor are you painting ?? if its the inside i wouldnt use sound deadener in side as yourcarpet/underlay will stick to the sh*t like sh*t sticks to a blanket, just go with some Etch and the GMH- Black see below

I work professionally in this field ... dampening compounds come mainly in two forms - what we call [a] unrestrained layer, or (b] constrained layer.

[a] is usually a liquid form that sets or solid adhesive-backed pad as discussed above.
[b] is similar to [a] but has a metal sheet backing (e.g. Dynamat).

Constrained layer is a lot better pound-for-pound. Both work best in the central third of flat panels (where deflections of the panel are highest). Both reduce in performance if you have a lot of intermediate material (like thick paint) between the steel and the dampening material, but etch primer over bare metal is fine.

Have no idea what Shiltz wiixh is Lee lol

the tube of shiltz screws straight on to this gun wich is just my fish oil gun, the tip can be changed and i have a clear tube/hose with a fitting on the end of it for getting into tight spots when fish oiling, here is a pic of the gun i use.

you can spray it over Acylic primer, i have used the pressure pak's of the sound deadener before and it doesnt seem to go down very thick so there for you need to use a sh*tload of pressure pak's to get the same affect. but in saying that there might be something on the market now that comes in a pressure pak that is just as good Posted Image
