'72 sounds like it would be on the money, JP29... were being fitted in Feb 1973.
I should think HG 350 would be able to match the engine to a date and also to a VIN.
Torry nut, great to see you tracked down an XU-1.

I have already tried with HG to find the real home for a JP. I also have 1 with a genuine head and would love to track down the little bugger it came from.
I am told that HG will confirm numbers that you supply him but will never provide numbers. Which when you think about it, it is a god thing! stops a bit of rebirthing!
Good luck in the search Dave!
Andy! thanks mate I have managed to pick up an Xu1! and I I think Rory is a little bit pissed seen that I swipped it out from under his nose up in the north!
I have been replacing Qtr glass rubbers over the weekend! gotta love those!
Cheers boys!

The car was built on the 21.9.72
its an Adelaide built car
Sold in October 1972 in Victoria at Bayside Motors - Frankston
So anyone who has an Adelaide 9/72 car that is missing its JP send me your VIN
Phil I havent found the CK yet, but Ben has more LC info than me, so I will see if he has better luck than we have in finding its birth mother.

Your CK is from the following
A car built on the 10/09/71. Car had 3.08:1 rear axle and was sold in September 1971 through Auswild Motors (Griffith).
I have the VIN so if you get any inquiry let me know and I will confirm if its the right VIn for the engine or not.
