G'day All

Well my most prized piece of memorabilia/GMH History is an Inspector's dust coat that I got from Ron who worked at the GMH assembly plant at Acacia Ridge in Brisbane from 1957 till 1984 when the plant closed.

The dust coat is Khaki with blue cuffs and collar and also has "Quality Control" embroided on the left breast pocket.

At the time of my GTR's assembly in April 1970, Ron more than likely would have put the wiring loom or the instrumentation into my car as he then worked on the "Wiring Line".

His last four years at the plant was as an Inspector and this is one of his dust coats. It was unused and still in its plastic wrapper when I got it. I have since been sent another one albeit used and a shorter version to this one.

Unfortunately Ron passed away in September and his caring wife sent the 2nd one to me along with some other stuff that she said Ron would have liked me to have.

Forget about the not so good looking bloke, but the dust coat and Torana look alright

Regards....................Barry.

Baz!
You are a boofhead!!, ....and I got a lump in my throat when I looked. Heres to Ron...he knows the stuff went to the right guy. Well done mate.
Rory
P.S. Don't forget to tell the 20 y.o. experts at the displays they were a twinkle in their old mans eye when that bugger was built and they are talking through their arses when their give their expert opinions! I did it the other day and told a young bloke he should put his head back up his arse as he didnt know what he was talking about and a guy listening clapped me as I walked away! Probably one of the proudest moments of my life.!!! Heres to Ron! and I am having a drink right now for him! :D
P.S.S. Mine was built 3/71 at ACacia Ridge so he probably touched her too! :)

Bugga me I didn't know that was here  I only know of an LJ XU-1 and 327 HK Bathurst Monaro sitting in a farm shed.

Could be another GTR here in town that was rallied but I haven't found it YET

Am I hiding any other stuff
