G'day all,

While I've got everything out, I thought I might respray the top of the dash on my LH SL/R.

I know it's black, but does anybody know where I get the code? Plus, it's got a slight dappled texture to it, is that normal or just mine?

Cheers,
Napes

You should be able to pick up some plastic/vinyl dye spray in a satin or that black..

Thanks for your reply. I'm not trying to spray the dash upholstery, but the metal section between the upholstery and windscreen... Would any old satin black do? e.g. GMH Satin Black. :dontknow:

Cheers,

I have a feeling that the paint you're looking for is referred to as a suede finish acrylic lacquer. I found out from Dulux when I restored my brothers' HX that GMH used a suede finish on the HQ - WB metal dash panel and A pillar trims and it's highly likely they also used it on the LH - UC models. Sorry but I can't remember what the paint code was for the black I used.

Cheers

Hi Napes

Contact your local Dulux trade centre or an automotive paint supplier they should be able to help you out.

Cheers
Dave

PS: LC Torana ashtray lid was painted in Dulon Suede acrylic lacquer - Black 563-06912. Maybe this colour will be close enough for your needs?

The original code is 6912 in Suede, the newer code is 3K006.
