Hi i guys i live in western sydney, does anyone know where you can buy pre fabricated trans tunnels etc if you can, and where from cheers ben

im only going a th350 but my one has been massaged to fit the linkages on my top loader that is currently in the car and its not the greatest job was thinking of replacing with a fabricated one

im only going a th350 but my one has been massaged to fit the linkages on my top loader that is currently in the car and its not the greatest job was thinking of replacing with a fabricated one

I would make a cardboard template and bring that to a metal fabricator.
Make up your template and fit the box in position and see how it looks then make adjustments by trimming etc until youre happy with it.
I made mine with a home made sheet metal bender, i used 2mm sheet, cold rolled steel.

Nissan RB25t gearbox which is pretty fat

In position, i pressed the tunnel edges with a piece of angled wood to nicely butt up the tunnel edge to the floor edge and tacked it on with a mig, had about 30 odd tacks before a full weld.

Rounded off and tappered the back to meat the flood and the original part of the tunnel.

I forgot to mention, after I welded it all in I had allot of excess steel sticking out under the tunnel, I trimmed this off after welding. I left the excess intentionally as you never know it may end up too short even if the template seems accurate at the start. So leave excess, weld then trim. Use zinc primer, then sound deadening.
