I was wondering how big of a wheels can be fitted without the springs and shockers. I should have mini tubbed it but too late, going to be painted soon. I have to buy new axles due to wrong patten. Since new axle for about $1000, i thought i maybe able to short a little more.

My diff is 1370 wide with 235/45/18 on 18/8 vt rims,it looks like it could easily take a 9in rim & 255 wide tyres but as you would already know it is the diameter of the tyres & wheelarch clearance are the main problems.I think the biggest rims I saw was on Dyno Steve's lj with 11in wide rims & a lot of wheelarch work.

theres a guy in qld with 15/8 welds on his, not really mini-tubbed but inner guard is slightly modded and outers rolled and he runs a 255/50 tyre

Sold a set of 15 x8.5 Convo's to a guy with an LC, he's shortening the diff but keeping std wheel arches and spring locations... And running a 26 x10 M/T slick
He reports that its tight, but they clear.

Any one got some real good pictures of a mini tubs one. My panel beater was looking in a mag while have a beer tonight and said, we should tub it. I said, good idea. I'm starting to like my car again.

Yep they were 15x 8.5's Convo Pro's with 3 3/8" back spacing... Like I said I'm not sure what he's done, but I'm sure the std wheel wells are there (its a GTR after all).
