LC 1200S Rear Brakes

I've been reassembling the brakes on the driver rear and the fitting that connects the line to the piston backing plate is playing silly buggers.

It appears as though the connection runs up and down the line (almost but not quite looks threaded) and into the backing plate. It's now about 3/4 of the way into the backing plate and is just free spinning and not tightening up.

Is there anyway to repair this or do I need to get the fitting replaced?

Hopefully i understand you correctly

It sounds like you have stripped the thread which means your not going into the hole straight.

Unless you have the correct tap to recut the thread you'll need to replace either the wheel cylinder and or the pipe with the flared nut on it to rectify the problem.
