As the title says, im just doing my research and was wondering people's opinions of which manual gearbox would be best behind a 355 stroker. Im after manual only and 5 speed and so far have only been told Supra 5 speed would be best but as i said, im just doing my research.
Thanks guys.

For a performance 355, I'd go for the Tremec TKO 5 speed. This is what a mate in our car club runs behind his 355 in his LX hatchback... the car cops a lot of abuse (drag racing, regular skidpan/motorkhana events, and lots of spirited driving). The gearbox hasn't ever skipped a beat. Also gives him great economy out on the open road.

What needs to be done to fit the Tremec TKO 5 speed besides bellhousing, tailshaft, etc?
This will be in a LX Sedan as well.

No conversion kit, bought the gearbox from Jegs in the states, bell housing is a Quicktime, got it and the hydrollic thrust bearing from mall wood. Clutch is a DFX Centerforce. The box cost me $3600 landed in Australia, Mall Wood wants $6000 plus for his setup, clutch was $500 landed ( rated at 750 horses). You just got to be care full with freight, if you don't do it right it will cost a bomb I had my box delivered by standby air freight for $450, took 2 weeks to my door.
hey mate im just looking into importing a tremec from the states also , i was wondering how u went with customs as i rang them yesterday and got a cranky bitch that didnt want to help
