just wondering if a 425 mixer is to big for a 253 will eventually be a 308 was just wondering if you can tune it to suit?
also i hear you can adapt them to a rotchester base any one no about this?

They come in either holley or rotty bases.
a 425 isn't too big for a 253...I used to have one one 173!

ok so do you just order them from impco and specify or are they readily availible at wreckers up until yester day id only ever heard of them using holleys

i wouldnt be worried about using a 425 on a 253, they are rated at 450cfm and a great mixer
you can fit them to a number of base plates etc, i just converted my from a spreadbore thermoquad base to a holley square bore base. you'd just need to buy an adapter to run a spread bore base designed for the impco

I would find a cheap a second hand one from the wreckers or ebay and rebuild it.
When ordering parts, etc best to order direct from IMPCO.
Alot cheaper plus very helpful when they send out the wrong things or damaged goods. (No questions asked will send out new things, etc)

Check out Ebay.com, look for a propane mixer (or Impco 425)...last I saw they were approx $315 new
