Rare Spare did have glass but it appears to have disappeared from thier website. It would be worth giving them a call.
May I just add that Ralph is excelent to deal with too.
I ended up getting a full glass kit off him and at the time he asked how did I know about him and I said from this forum,he was blown away.So I told him that I would give him a good plug on here again but didn't (slacko on me)so here you go Ralph,
RALPH MOORE AUTO GLASS
6 John st
MASCOTT
N.S.W 2020
PH 96671933
Full glass kits for just about anything
After hassling rare spares for ages for a set of side glass and rear screen (without demister), I did a bit of searching and found these guys - VEH glass.
http://www.vehglass.com.au/
I just got a passenger door glass from them and they have a drivers side one, and rear screen with demister in stock.
They said they will be having a go at making rear 1/4 glass in 4 weeks and rear screens without demister in about 8 weeks.
The more orders they get - the more motivated they are to make them.
If you are chasing glass for your hatch, give them a call and get your order in before they make this batch. Pricing is very good too.
I needed a full set except the front widscreen due to some theiving a$$wipe smashing the drivers window trying to steal the hatch and then the tint shop at Moorooka (message me if you want details) scratching the inner and outter surface of all 5 bits of glass when they were retinting them.

For a LH - UC sedan
Ralf Moore Auto Glass
$1386 for kit - includes door glass x 4 plus quarter glass x 2 (No rear and front screens)
VEH Glass
$1450 for kit - includes door glass x 4 plus quarter glass x 2 (No rear and front screens)
How does this sound? Any other suppliers?

Like Col said, surely it can be refurbished for a lot less than that.
Might have to carefully wrap he two spare sets I have in the shed if its actually worth a few bob.
Maybe give these guys a call and see what sort of a job they do on one window and if any good, get them to do the rest. If no good, at least you wont be majorly out of pocket.

Sounds a bit steep !
that price should be for 2 sets,IMO.
I paid $500 for my LJ glass,(clear) rare spares..
door glass x 2,quarter glass x 2,front quarter glass x 2
A mate of a mate used VEH glass for his XY (ford),and i think that cost him under a grand,?

Ralf Moore's said there's only one manufacturer left producing LH - UC glass, and they feel they can charge what they want

i guess if you want it bad enough you will pay the price. i will be replacing all the glass in my LX but i dont see the front & rear glass in the kit ?? can you still get a full kit or is it just doors ??
Both suppliers said the same thing, there's nil stock of the rear screen available at the moment, should be available in the coming months. Neither place was prepared to give me a price though....
Regarding the windscreen, they're readily available from most windscreen installers...

Depends how many scratches your glass has and how deep they are. If you can feel the scratch at all with your fingernail, work on at least 2 hours per inch of scratch.
If it cannot be felt by your finger nail, more like half hour to an hour per inch of scratch. I started doing my rear 1/4 windows and did the first few light scratches - I calculated I had about 30 hours per rear 1/4 window to get them up to new standard plus the cost of the polish.
Not sure what your hourly rate at work is but $200 a piece of glass is an absolute bargain for new stuff. I have searched high and low for good second hand glass and every bit I have looked at has been far worse than the stuff I already have is.
Glass polishing is far far easier on soft laminated glass. The toughened glass on Torana side and rear windows is about the hardest glass you will find.
