i have my tonner in primer and have wet rubbed it with 600 grit, it's now ready for colour (salamanca red)

just wondering how many coats of colour to put on, i was thinking 4 coats, is this the right amount?

also, is it ok if i paint the cab first then do the panels and doors in a few weeks, will there be a colour difference? paint is autothane 2 pack, solid colour

first question are you -painting car complete or in panels, then the car body

i suggest two coats assemable car then rub down with 1000 grit and apply two to three more coats of colour ,you have to be carefull with cheap arse paint as it solvent boils real easy thats is why i suggest two coat first panel car up let dry out for a week then apply two to three more coats when the car is panel up

pm me if you have any questions or wish to know more

thank-you very much for your response

i added a pic of everything before i wet rubbed

everything (panels and cab) are on stands ready to paint

i like your idea though, i'll have to give the back wall of the cab a extra coat cause i won't be able to get to it when the cab is back on the chassis

there is a join mark at the back of the cabin ,you can back mask down that or leave your tray off
