Found this on the streetcommodores forum and figure its best to try and get the word out there:

Hey everyone, this morning we went to go to work to find 2 of our cars gone.
Dads is a 2006 VE SS in Sting Red with 20" G2 chrome wheels.
Mine is a 2007 VE E1 R8 in Evoke, only distinguishing factor about mine was the plates GOT-307. I can link photos if they help but I reckon they won't be seen in daylight until they're stripped or used for getaway cars etc.

Broke into the house from the rear sliding door then went through and grabbed our phones, cameras, wallets and keys.

Then they would have rolled them down the street (pretty steep hill) then started them down there as they would've woke anyone up that was around because of the exhausts on them.

Glenmore Park, next to Penrith.

Anyway, if you have seen anything please contact myself (Mick) on 0431 964 699 or crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

This is more about finding scum that take these cars and putting them away rather then getting the cars back.

Regardless, it is still someones pride and joy, and it has been stolen by some life life scum who think they can just steal things instead of working their arses off and earning what they have!

Its not just the cars , its replacing your identity with all the cards (licence, credits cars etc) and the phones with contacts/numbers etc.
Skap remind us all to treat any future losses of yours with similar disregard.

Seems to be the most common way these days - easier to break into a house than a car so they go after the keys so make sure you keep them safe.

That is what the (unt did when trying to steal my LX - smashed the back door of the house in and went looking everywhere for keys - Ha Ha, they were in my pocket poofter.

Infact there was nothing of interrest in the house so he didn't get anything except some jail time and an arch enemy.

Not nice having someone go through the place makes you angy and makes the women scared.

The SS was found in Campbelltown with someone elses belongings in it and was reported in an aggravated assault. Hopefully they can track something back to who took it.

The R8 is still around somewhere though.

Matt,
when does he get out again? Are we going to make a day of it and have a BBQ out the front gate while waiting?

Grant..

They might be a dime a dozen, but have you ever had your car stolen? I bet you would be pissed off if you did so have some more simpathy.

i think its more the insult to ones pride when having a car stolen, as well as the loss of the car. i had my motorbike stolen and burnt in a near by park. could be replaced but what got me the most is that someone actually trespassed on my property. then i had my beautiful staffy stolen, that hurt as you cannot replace an animal. and lastly i had my olive tree stolen from the front yard, strange? yes! but it did piss me off that someone uprooted a frocken tree from my front yard!!

i followed the SS down the M4 today on a tilt tray, it was covered in finger print dust but had no other danage on it. good to see it was being returned to it's owner.

People take pot plants and things a lot. Trees are often worth good money. Either they were too tight and/or drug addicted to pay, or someone handed them a shopping list with your tree on it.

We had an ashtray stolen from the front porch of our place a few months back. It was a reasonably nice, old school looking thing. I doubt that any hock shop would give you more than a dollar for it though. Strange.

It's great to hear that at least one was returned : )

Whole thing sounded a lot like an inside job to begin with. Either that or a random somehow got the chance to case the joint. Seems like they knew exactly what they were looking for.
