Well I have been looking for a while to find a decent replacement for my trusty old VK tow car and I think this will do.
I am going to list my VK for sale which is a Berlina 202 5-speed with number plates MM202

So the replacement is a 1989 NZ new BMW 535i 5-speed with alot of extras. The engine number appears the fourth produced 535i as its BF00004
It drives as good as it looks :)

Beautiful car.

Love the bimmas, used to own a 85 E30 myself.

Will get another one one day (prolly a E46) after a few more mid life chrisises.

Cheers.

Nice nice nice cars - until they break.

Then - money money money

An E36 M3 is my dream car.

Maybe an 850i? Any M5? Those German fellas make some cracking cars.

One of the reasons I chose this one was it had the head off and was rebuilt and the engine was checked for wear.
155 kW (211 PS) @ 5.700 rpm
305 Nm (225 lbft) @ 4.000 rpm
235 km/h (146 mph)
15.9 Second Standing 400m
7.5 seconds 0-100km/h
Just under 100k produced with 535i engines and just over 5k having the Getrag 5 speed manual which run almost identicle ratios as in the VS, VT, VX, VY Commodores
I am trying to track this down but it appears I may have the 4th built 535i

If the engine fails I will replace it with a jap import engine but I am going to take it out on the track for some fun as soon as I can :D
I am impressed with the quiet smooth delivery of power but the cat exhaust has to go. I have read that the bottom end of these engines are very strong and can handle big power but trying to put a turbo or decent headers on a right hand drive is difficult with the steering box.

LOL... i want to wash it but have no water... although the storm water has a bit running through it.
I took it out to my race guru mate for him to test drive it and got the thumbs up in suspension and steering setup and he reckons the box feels very good.
I tested it out over a bumpy road and it handles so well and soaks up the bumps

It turns out this is the 4th e34 535i made according to my deciphering the body tag and was made in Munich for the NZ market.

Even more cool!!!!

I honestly cant put in words how much i like these cars, and as said i hope to be able to own another one one day.

As said above when they go wrong they cost $$$, hence why i sold my E30.

But when there right there just sooooo good.

Cheers.
