Daniel,

Thanks for your reply. If you could get the repro covers and tongues that would be excellent.

There is a member on here (from memory SS Torana) who makes all sorts of top quality reproduction parts for Toranas. I will be asking him to look into remaking these covers and tongue ends.

Dattoman,

I share your concern about getting them made through an un-licensed supplier. The two establishments that supply new plastic components with their re-webbing service are Brad Merrick and Monaro Muscle Parts. There are more establishments coming out of the woodwork as we speak.

Please note I am not knocking the quality of these re-webbed seat belts. From the photos I have seen, they look to be of a very high quality.

@ kockum,

unfortunately we can't get them new, therefore we can't supply the ends and caps.

if we recieve a job with missing adjuster caps, we try to find a second hand one and paint it the same colour, and put it on, free of charge, as a courtesy..

but we cannot get them new, and having the loose tongue ends, they usually end up between the door and fray quicker.. we sew the loose end back onto the sash using a loop bar, it looks neat and doesnt get caught in the door.

if we could find a supplier of new adjuster caps, that would be good.

Hi Daniel

Like others, I have used your seat belt rewebbing services (for an LX) and I am very happy with the products! I got mine rewebbed some 5 years ago and at the time, little was known about Seatbelt Solutions. The only reason that I went with you guys was because your products are ASA certified.

As Kockum says, I might be able to assist in getting some of the plastic pieces remade that usually get damaged or lost. I am currently looking at the LH-UC Seat belt parts.

If you are interested, PM me and we can have a chat about some of these items.

cheers
Mick

We have lengths and layout for full sets of LH, LX, LJ, LC GTR

we can make up aftermarket sets using new reels for LH/LX
Prices are:
$615 with standard ADR buckles/tongues
or $850 with small chrome buckles and GM PRESS stickers.
postage will be $40 for 2x3kg boxes (next day delivery)
or $25 for 5kg Aust Post Express (few days)

or else $800 CASH, PICK UP ONLY, NO RECIEPT

can make up in any colour, only thing we need is a call to order and length of front buckles..
we cannot get chrome buckles on stalks, only ADR approved buckles on stalks.

thanks,
Daniel

sorry for the VERY late reply, we've been having a few (too many) issues here with emails/internet.

the brisbane shop is technically open, but not quite 'off the ground'

meaning, they don't have the stock to make up these torana sets yet.

I'll add my praise of these guys in replacing the 4 point harnesses that used to be in the LH to get over the pits

Being honest, the seat belts after install were 'sticky' (difficult to pull down) and was one of the non-compliances picked up by the assessor.

But the aftersales support more than made up for it - on return it was solved no problem and straight away. Apparently the mounting angle caused an issue which was fixed using a wedge piece of steel.

The guys there also took out and packaged the roll cage that was in it for me.

So could you make a set of seatbelts from scratch that look as close as possible to original for an LH - UC Torana? Or do you need some bits sent to you?

Happy New Year Guys!

i do apologise for not replying from almost 2 months ago!

@CHOPPER- From scratch the closest we can get, are pictured in the previous page.
if you have the parts we can surely make the seat belts up using original fittings.
however if the parts are rusted where webbing runs through, and the rust cannot be removed or the fitting cannot be re-plated, we will not be able to.

@SQAUREPANTS - Definately, as HANRA has replied, we have many options for many vehicle old or new.
if you could email us directly at forumspecials@seatbeltsolutions.com.au we'll be able to assist you further.

Yeah finding a spare 20 minutes during business hours is a pain though, considering i start work a couple of hours before most mobs open and finish a couple of hours after, and generally dont get much of a lunch break!!

Then you need to have a pen and pad handy, cost of a long mobile phone call, waiting whilst people dick around on the other end looking up prices/info while telstra are rubbing there hands in glee at the money there making, i've requested photo's of a few things so these will need to be emailed correctly, five subsequent phone calls asking where the email of the picks is and getting someone different each time and starting the whole process again, etc etc.......

With how much easyer/more efficient it is i dont know why busnesses bother with phone calls anymore tbh, although in some cases i can understand its easyer.

Cheers.

I do agree that email helps, a LOT, but I also know that not everyone sits at their desk "waitin for" emails to arrive, especially in smaller companies (like I work for).

Then when they are checked, there are 30,40,50 to check and it's easy to miss something important!

What I tend to do is send the email, and chase it with a quick call to let them know I'm serious and keep an eye out!

I've found a lot of stuff ups that way from typos I email down situations!

Other thing is, these guys being WAlians, are on deck 2 hours after working hours finish in qld! 3hours in NSW/Vic! Maybe that can help!

Copy of the email i sent them

Hi, im bomber watson off the Gmh-Torana forums.

I noticed your thread in the business section, and would like a quote for your product.

Now, i have NOTHING, i stupidly sold all my original gear years ago when i was running clippan belts.

Im not overly keen to re use these ones, so thought you guys might be the go.

Now, what im chasing is black inertia real belts for both the front seats, including buckles and tongues, prefer stalk mounted.

And regular style non inertia reel type lap sash belts as per origional type thing for the rear outers, left and right, and a center lap belt, again with everything.

Hope that makes sense, im not overly fluent with seat belt terms!!

Also some picks of the various tongues and buckles you have available would be nice!!

Im located in Rockhampton, central QLD.

Cheers.

So yeah, everything basically. Part of the reason im a bit surprised they havnt replied, im not expecting that bundle to be cheap!!

Cheers.
