hey all,

just wondering what the best tunnel would be to fit into an LC as my box doesnt fit in. if i cant make it fit by heating it up and having a bash then im gonna have to put in another tunnel, which is a c**t of a job i know. ive heard HQ tunnels fit in quite good but just wondering on the LX tunnels as my brothers has just put one of them into an EH, anyone got a different tunnel in there lc/ljs they can reccomend?

thanks
nick

you could always custom fab one to fit your box.
what gearbox is it for?

edited to add:
I think that CRS do a tunnel section for putting a T700 into FB-EK and it looks pretty easy to copy

yeah you could always fold one up yourself but it would never look as good as an orignal one out of another car. the problem with putting bigger tunnels in is the carpet wont fit. 20L paint drum??? nah dont think so. its only just touching might have to heat it up and have a play i think, its a 5speed r33 box.

If you use a hq one apparently you can use a hq carpet and cut it smaller etc to suit( havent done this personally) or maybe talk to a moulded car place up here and see if they will do a custom one

r 33 skyline box hey, sounds like the same conversion i'm doing with my lx sedan, i trial fitted a rb20det (r32 skyline, which is smaller) box and found that it still hits, send my car off to the engineer to get the new tunnel made, can post pics by sat if you interested in seeing the tunnel.

Try a commodore one, can fit most gearboxes you can name. Also you can modify the carpet to fit under the seats and sills, atleast it will fit the floor and tunnel.

LX SS- ill send you a pm mate. ive already got got a slightly bigger tunnel in her but shes only just hitting in a few places, really trying to avoid putting in another tunnel as it might be a hassel thats avoidable.

myss427- yeah might go to the wreckers and just get a general idea on the shape and looks of a commy tunnel. see how i go.
