gday
i have just got my self a 1976 lx torana it has a vh 308 in it with a full manulised auto in it and a banjo 3.36 in it that wines a bit but hey should have a better one in it
but the other day i came a cross this i dont thinks it is to standard c if u can work it out what it doed the red shut off tap

Firstly, welcome to the forums. That valve could be part of an LPG system that has been removed. It's very hard to tell with that photo.

Is it attached to the brakelines at all? bit hard to tell from that pic but as macca said it could be a kind of line locker.

haha nice ride! Looks like a dodgy line locker to me... Try it out! Turn the Knob, put your foot on the brake and rip a skid (in a safe controlled enviroment) then do it the opposite way and see if there is any difference!

Could be a fuel shut-off solenoid.

Very hard to tell from that pic.

it is a doggy shut off tap for the rear breaks but i may have to go try it before i take it out
im form Melbourne montrose
i bought it out of the trading post u prob saw it on there
there a few other rough things about it but they all shoud be fixed
like the shocking wiring

need to have the gap in the bonnet blacke out so the gaps sont look so big

na i havent because i put it up on blocks last week and it still up there sorry but i miss it sitting up there

Interesting setup! if its connected to the brake line it could be either a dodgey proportioning valve or line lock...

I dont think that would be legal.. Maybe it would be best to get it removed and your brake system checked!?

because if someone went to the effort of putting in a line locker that means they would probably have been doing plenty of burnouts.
