LC15087A = Adelaide body.

82911 = GTR 2 door.

J2 = Melbourne assembled.

For LC GTR the microfiche will be be the only way to find if it is a factory XU1.

James

Thanks James

Unfortunately I don't think this is an XU-1. It might do as a stop gap project though until one of the those comes along. Interestingly, the Aus Muscle Car Museum LC XU-1 has sold.

HG, could you have a look at these numbers please?

Cheers

Paul

Hi Guys.

If it is an XU-1, it would be one of the very 1st batch (7/70).

DR TERRY.

Agreed, I have only seen 8/70 production cars and 1 6/70, I think there was very few built in 6/70, most of the first batch seem to be 8/70, 9/70,10/70. I think the 6/70 and 7/70 were promotional or demo cars.

As far as I am aware LC XU-1 were only assembeld at Acacia Ridge (Brisbane) and Elizabeth (SA), not at Melbourne,

Regards Simon

Just to let you all know

If you come across this car in your buying travels, leave it where you find it.

It has a 1969 VIN with a 7/70 chassis ???????

Thanks Millissa, that's tops! Apparently it's an unfinished project and is in Adelaide. It was not very widely advertised. All the good stuff he has done to it is probably worth the asking price if anyone is interested.
Thanks heaps :D , I'll keep looking.

Sounds like it might be the same - yes it was in the Trading Post. Also starting to sound more and more like a dog. It comes with a fresh 202, triple Webbers, Commodore trimatic, 3500rpm stall, new front end, rust, etc, etc.

Would explain why the numbers dont line up on it.

But the vin is off a 1969 ( NO COMPLIANCE PLATE CAR ) and this car has a compliance plate ooopppssss

even if the chassis has changed, the numbers dont work for me.
