Extractors, chromie air cleaner, XC Falcon Weber, thermo fan.

Extractors: $50 (a bit extra to get them installed though)
Chromie Air Cleaner: $25
XC Falcon Weber: ~$60? Visit the Wreckers, then rekit it
Thermo Fan/Fans: $30-$250 lol (remove mech fan obviously)
VK Electronic Ignition: <$65

THEN a cheap Dyno Tune if you've got change.

OR You just get a Yella Terra Head and extractors and be done with it.

I don't know where you are but I bought a VK with 3.3 black motor and 5 speed from fowles auctions as a wreck. $350.

So am I. I have plenty of 6 cyl UC bits. This includes a complete exhaust system from red motor extractors to tailpipe. If you offer me enough, I'll remove it and deliver to your door.

I never needed an engineers for my UC with a 308, passed first go over the pits.

It might be a different rule for each state (as with a lot of things) or maybe you were just lucky! Not sure.

the fremantle plant in WA produed 253 UC V8's from factory. Rare spares in osbourne park has shown me documentation of this and the guy at the pits also confirmed it.

News to me. If there was proof, it would make life a lot easier for those wishing to power up their UC's.

Next time I go into rare spares I'll see what I can get. All I can say is there is a register 308 UC in the garage with no engineers. I've been pulled over by the police once (only once) and they checked it all out they didnt think it was legal but it came up fine on their computer

Wouldn't it be better to get the info straight from GMH? After all, isn't that what the rego authorities go by?

With the improvements you posted, it should make more power and therefore go quicker. EFI isn't a cheap option, nor is it a quick fit. Most of the members who run reasonable times in their 202's use 3.9:1 diff ratio. Which I have already offered you.

Nobody could give you an accurate answer on what to do to run under 15 seconds until we know how fast it is now.

A cam and lifters will chew up your $400 budget, and that's just the parts, you'd have to install them yourself, which isn't that hard.

I'd just go extractors, electronic ignition, and high flow air filter. Your engine is a pump, so first priority for me would be freeing up the intake/exhaust, electronic ignition so you don't have to frig around with points and make it all nice and smooth, and nice to drive. Even with those, your gonna be over your $400 budget.

Forget fuel injection on the budget you have. Min. 3k for injection and all the other bits, and that would just be an average system.

Ah yes, electronic ignition. I have a Blue 6 electronic ignition dissy hanging around somewhere that I don't really need. With leads.

UCmyUC, my UC runs 14.8@95mph with a 186cu motor, 4speed manual and 3.08:1 diff gearing

Here's what im running:

179HP - bored to 186
Starfire rods
Lightened flywheel
Worked head (ported, shaved, bigger valves, double HP valve springs, rocker stud retainers, roller rockers, standard lifters and 202 pushrods)
Hypatectic pistons
XU-1 Camshaft
Electronic Ignition
350 Holley on CAIN manifold with K&N filter
Pacemaker headers (extractors) into 2 1/4" exhaust
I have heaps more mods, but you can see them in my ride in "members rides" section...

Spent just over $4000 on the motor alone...

I've since had it dyno tuned, fitted thermofans and fitted a 2 1/2" Stainless exhaust system. I was going to run it down the strip next weekend but due to work stuffing me around, im not until the following weekend now!

Goodluck with it mate!

Keith
