Here's the thing, i'me putting the 304 into a lh5000, & the price of a new set of pacemakers is around $700. I have a set of pacemakers from the old 308 which were only a week old when the car was written off. Can i simply cut off the old mount plates, reposition the middle pipes, & put a oxygen sensor boss into the left bank pipe, & weld it all together? I am a certified welder so there is no problem there.

Firstly, welcome to the forums. Secondly, if you can weld you can make them fit. I won't suggest ways to go about it, you're the welder not me.

I am gathering that the 304 is an efi motor and thus the reason for the oxygen sensor. You will also be upset to find out that the efi heads run a different port for the exhaust and the inlet thus requiring a change of extractors. IE your existing extractors for you 308 will not fit. Your best bet would be to try and use the original exhuast off the written off vehicle and modify it. If that ends up being too much then just buy teh pre done set as this will save you a huge amount of time. it also means that minimum wleding will need to be doen in akward positions.

cheers
