Just a quick question (I hope),
I'm in the process of building up a 202 for the LX but have some concerns in regards to cylinder heads and in particular valve guide wear.
Basically, I picked up a 9 port Yella Terra head on the cheap that looked to be in pretty good nick and came with valve springs etc, but after knocking the valves out of it there seems to be a bit of play in the guides.
What I would like to know - is there any way of 'measuring' valve guide wear and working out what's normal/acceptable? The bloke I bought the head off originally swore it was going fine before he pulled the motor out of his LJ years ago, but when comparing it with the 161 head I've got (which has virtually no slop when moving the valves about) I'm not so sure I can believe him.
Honestly, I'm tempted to just chuck the YT head on and see how it goes. Can always swap it with the other if the Fire Brigade rocks up in the driveway later on - but any advice would be appreciated all the same.
Cheers,

Valve Guide wear

I usually get the guide and stem clean as then oil with what grade motor oil you intend using, any noticable movement with the valve at approx half lift of your cam I would consider excessive.
Try and keep each valve to it's relative guide.
Check it is not the valve stems worn.
