Hi all. I was just going through some earlier threads about alfa fibreglass, i currently have a 4" cowel bonnet on order through alfa but i am wondering if anybody has used the front guards, if so how well did they fit, ive heard that fibreglass panels usualy need a bit of tweaking to make them fit, they are cheap enough just dont want to have to work on new products that should bolt straight on.Same with hatch doors alfa complete doors are the same price as waddington door skins, not sure which way to go. Any advice would be great. Cheers

Hi mate, I don't have any of their fibreglass panels on my car however I recently purchased from them front and rear flares for my lh 4 door, along with a scoop and front and rear spoliers - I can now say they were all top quality and the fit was great, required very little work.

Along with that, when I went to pick them up I took a peak at the panels/doors they were making which also looked top notch, theyve got a vn race car at their factory which was almost all fibreglass.. seeing how good the panels looked and feeling how well the doors opened and shut made me want to buy some even though my torana is my daily drive!

I would definitely recommend them.

not sure I would be using fibreglass doors on a daily driver, not going to save your life with a side impact

Yeah i rang up about all the bits today. He said the doors are strong enough to use on the street no worries but they do not meet aus standards so in the event of an accident your insurance wouldnt cover u at all.

no, i didnt bother with the headache i just passed it on to dirtbag.he was visibly shaken. and id already forked out a motza for a complete set, from milton torana spares in brisbane(made by raider industries ,brisbane) which he had assured me were the best quality .untill i got home and they were even more shit than the ones i had at home.(another set i had bought previously). he did not want to know about it. just bad luck i guess.so 1200 gorillas later i still had two and a half sets of junk. just make sure you have a look at the thread i mentioned earlier.and make up your own mind about flares anyway.. id try gremlin or dirtbag or even repliglass in queensland ,hell make em fresh for you ,so there stil plyable. gremlin fibreglass is good quality also. and i believe easy to do bizzness with.now we dont want you murdering any one do we? cheers n good luck young jedi

Here is the link to Alfa Motorsport web site, they are far from broke. Fraser and Michelle are doing well in the automotive industry and continue to impress with new products all the time!

I ordered a pair of rear hatch flares (only, no experience with anything else) because I had bought some from Rares which were quite poor all round. The Alfa ones are basically the same bad shape (which can be rectified with some modification) however I must say the quality of the fibreglass is clearly much better, I wouldn't expect them to crack or sustain damage nearly as easily. Bad molds, good workmanship...?

edit: Oh and I did contact them about it, they were interested to get more details about the shape issue which I said I'd take photos etc when I fitted them. Its been a couple of years and I haven't got around to fitting them yet... but I will definitely use them at some stage

I Asked some general questions about their flares regarding some of the comments on the forum and he said they did have a problem with hatch flares but the for door flares should be fine. I wouldnt no as i dont have flares
