Has anyone had any first hand experience with JBT brake calipers/kits? i have seen a few a few quick doof-doofs with them fitted.i can buy them locally for the right odds and they look quite compact, good range of pads and are radial mount(universal)Probly get them to fit my lx maybe.

Never heard of them
But looking at their loud website they look OK
I think they might be slightly lacking in the bridge bolt design where the halves join
But hard to say without seeing it
And of course having a feel

There are others I've seen lately that I might prefer
But until I lay my hands on that one its hard to say
But I believe the ones I'm going to look at are back door AP's

Radial mounts are always preferred

Best get some dimensions off them and do some measuring
They might not fit between stub and steering arm

Staggered pistons
1 5/8 and 1 1/2
I'd like to see the pad shape and size too

Datto,i have looked at the JBT calipers and i have some info. The pistons are 1"1/2 all around, would this work on a torrie with vn comm rear discs? They would have to be a lot better than the std crap ones. The pads are same as lucas GDB1392, Viper-Alfa? I put the caliper on a hq disc with torrie stud pattern and put it in a 14" wheel and it looks like it will clear.I don't know about fitting on the stub though yet.The calipers have a s/steel rub strip for the pads. The pistons have dust seals. They do look pretty tuff.I will try to post some pics.
if this looks close i might grab some.

I fitted a spare HQ disc/hub onto stub axle and sat the JBT caliper on the disc.I then fitted and bolted up a 14 inch wheel and it all looks like it will clear. The caliper is very close to tierod end etc but i confident it will clear everything by 3-4mm.I can get these calipers and S/S braided hoses for the right odds as they are not in boxes. They have got to better than the crappy, rattley std calipers.I will post some pics when i work how.
