Would be cheaper and quicker to send to Dragway in Victoria for them to do it. They re-did a set of billets for me from 9's to 11's with new hoops in one week for a good price. Quality you could not fault.

Yeah any wheel shop that specializes in 2 piece will replace the hoops cheaper than re chroming but if you don't use dragway specifically then the hoops may vary.

Robbie, in 2008 i ask Dragway in Victoria if they did wheel restorations, mine (Dragway Indies) had rust on the rim and the rivets we're all tarnished, they said they had a store in Logan City QLD that does repairs.

This is one of the replies i got back, We have another store in Logan City QLD which do repairs we would probably have to replace the rim and the rivets as well we need to know what size wheels they are so we can give you a price, i had another one after this with prices but i think i have deleted it.

From memory (and thats fading slowly) it was going to cost about $450per outer and about $50 for all the rivets but that was in 08. I never got them done, was trying to decide if it was worth redoing them or buying new ones, i don't think there was much difference in prices

Their email address is [email protected] and their website is http://www.dragway.com.au/

Had it done with one of my dragway 5 spokes. Got the hoop from Dragway via Australia Post, and had it fitted by one of their local dealers. Not much difference for a new wheel. The centre is pushed out in a press, and you do get a little rounding on the faces/edges that contact the outer hoop.

After all that, I found my problem was a bent axle and not the wheel....DULP!!!

Surely it would be cheaper than $450 per wheel to remove the outers and get them re-chromed yourself than actually replacing them? Or is it illegal to do this? Has anyone tried doing this as my dragways will be up for a rechrome when I eventually get to the exterior of my car down the track and I dont really want to spend $450/wheel! I would spend the extra and buy a complete new set of wheels if i had to pay that much as I would rechrome all 4 wheels.

They are not easy to true the centre and it was recomended to me not to re use the same thread holes, which meand re drilling the rim and drilling and tapping the centre for new location, PITA wheels to work on.
