Said g'day to Barry as I was driving to get a replacement gearbox for the STP car. My XU1 was on the NEVCO trailer just behind our pit bay.
Did anyone see that Group A Starion accident on the main straight just before turn one?
We were on top of the pit bays and it was just incredible that he didn't total that car. I spoke to their mechanics and it had a rear suspension failure at nearly 200km/h.
I had a camera fitted to the rear of the STP car and have amazing footage of the whole thing. How it missed the wall I dont know.
Another great MCM. Only 365 days to wait for the next one!!

Didn't know the HVTC was having a run to the event. Now wonder I saw lots of familiarish looking faces.

Loved the name of his racing team fcuk cancer how fitting with what he is going through,
We saw him at the airport with John Bowe on there way home and he still had a grin from ear to ear on his face.
The LJ involved in the accident with the charger was Ethan Lind that is the car that broke his axle at Lakeside two weeks ago and the back wheel came off going down the main straight. Poor guy not having a very good run.
We saw Barry with a big box waiting in the line for Alan Moffat after seeing the pictures now know what he had in the box.

The purple rt charger copped it the most as well as the LJ.
Great day though.
I was looking at the Lj torana guys oil cooler / bypass set ups and each had their own theory on this area. It was great to see how they varied and what approach they employed to deal with this matter.

I had a fantastic fathers day at MCM, my first fathers day in fact, we witness some poor chap with an LJ sports sedan throw a rod and spin on his own oil, followed closely by others spinning in the oil, narrowly missing the LJ. It came to rest nose first right in front of us. While it was running it was making the most beautiful 6 cylinder exhaust note and he was power sliding around the corner! you could tell it had A LOT of horsepower, I joked with my dad " bet thats not a 202! " I was thinking it mighta had a nissan turbo 6 or something, and when the track marshals took the bonnet off we could see some unfamiliar looking alloy crossflow head. It had a big cover on the intake side so we couldn't see what induction system it had, so I was satified it was something like a skyline engine.....
Later that day some people told me that he does indeed run a 202 block and has fitted a ford alloy 6 head from an XF or XD etc and has put it on backwards and voila! an alloy crossflow head for a holden 202!
I gotta say that the MCM gets better every year, I reckon it will become Australias answer to Britans Goodwood festival of speed.

Hard to concentrate on fixing the car with these two hanging around!!
That sports sedan is Damien Johnsons from Vic. I've got video and plenty of photos of it from Winton a couple of months back.
Falcon crossflow head on a holden bottom end. Injected and distributorless ignition.
Sounds like nothing else.

Jason looked reasonably well. As usual drove like a champion.
This is how air bags used to be - when you had to supply them yourself.
Discussing how to resolve the issues in the US economy
And my brother pretending that he's not noticing that they are there
I do the video in the STP Commodore and have some really good in car from MCM. Will bring it to Toranafest for some after dinner entertainment.
