G'day Everyone,

Neil Crompton keeps talking about the joys of getting a Pedders Sport Suspension package and their website even has a LH/LX Torana with it. Ignoring the lowering part of the suspension upgrade, has anyone got any info on this such as ball park price and if it is a good no hassle approach.

Cheers, Spud.

i have lost count of how many Pedders shocks i have replaced that are under 2 years old. One customer had his for 3 months and came in for a rego check and there was oil pissing out of them. King , Koni, Lovells, bilestien are the best imo.

I'll go against the grain here & say that, for the price, the Pedders stuff is pretty good buying.

Yes it makes a huge difference to handling! Yes that difference is noticable!

I have never had any issue with leaking shocks ect. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, it just hasn't happened to me.

pedders shocks and springs arnt made in china, springs are made in keysborough vic by pedders, and shocks are made in adelaide under licence by tenneco.
personaly i would go with king springs, boge, kyb, koni or bilstein shocks. ultima arnt to bad for there price too.

Ive put new pedders in my hatch about 6 yrs ago now and yes they improved the handling over standard suspension by quite a bit, but the trouble I have is the front springs dont seat in and move when you turn from full lock. It makes a nice 'clunking' noise as the spring jumps around slightly - its quite embarrasing to hear from in the car. I wouldnt get pedders front springs again, rears are fine though.

depends on your budget .id use pedders stuff, cos i aint a check book rodder. ive got sportsryder struts under my ss ute and im very happy for the price i paid ,over a year ago.id also consider them as an option on my torrie ,as ill need extra cash for other areas on it. just my 2 cents.

pedders are crap shocks

u can get a brand new out of the box pedders shock, and push it into concrete, and compress the shock very easily,it stays compressed for a bit, before it decides to return to where it should be.get them to give u demo of how crap they are at the shop before u buy them.

try doing that to a bilstein shock.

I guess most people think you can do better. Really I just want to have a car that handles like a modern one but Pedders seems like the wrong choice.

I notice not much talk of K-Mac anymore around these parts.

They were all the rage a few decades back, they are still in business so what's happened?

Has their technology been bettered?

I won't dispute this but their website is still up, I imagine this is for his workshop only?

They're not too far from me, what sort of service are you talking about, a whole new front end design or just replacing old for new?

Yep Fulcrum do the Superpro range of bushes. Amazingly still aussie owned and their head office and factory are at Moorooka - not far from where I am sitting here.

whiteline and nolathane are owned by redranger, and pedders polyurethane bushes are rebaged nolathane. im not 100% sure but i think k-mac is still k-mac, they are mostly into alignment products nowadays, not sway bars and coils.
and yes superpro is owned by fulcrum, which still is australian owned. and imo the best poly product on the market in australia.
