:furious: messy bastardo of an idea. if this is leaking then can i assume the pin may have slipped or dropped out completely.

will someone like sprint or repco have a kit suitable? I had a quick look on RSP adel site and didn't c any kits.

Shit hey, just got the muffler fixed up yesterday. Ruby is itchin 4 her birthday pressie. I just need her 2 hold out for 3 more weeks.

I assume that you are talking about the hole in teh side of teh bottom of the pump. This will usually leak when the pump starts to show signs of requiring a rebuild. Kits are availible but it is more often than not easier to replace with a brand new unit (this means that you end up with a commodore steal type pump rather than the su glass type one)

Cheers

Yep, I'm with him, put a commy pump on it. More volume. Not that it concerns you too much cos your going 8 soon are'nt you? A repair kit won't fix the worn diecast body either.

so a kit may get me out of trouble if the body isn't worn???

Correct, or grab a second handy and run it... if rumours above are correct...

ROFL, it is probably not a wise idea to get a new one then, as the new fuel pump will not bolt up to the v8 (completely different). Your options would be second hand or rebuild. the rebuild cost will be half that of a new one so it would be the cheapest option to go a secondhandy for teh time being.

Cheers

Or a good clean either end of the pin, dry over night, and a blob of sikaflex either end. Metho is best for cleaning and sika.

Had this leaking fuel pump issue with a mates Monaro once.

Was very funny.

He had painted the block white (god knows why) and this little trail of oil would always appear on the block adjacent to the pump.

It appeared that the leak was comming out of the side of the block as if a pressured oil gallery was forcing oil out a micro crack.

Clean/drive, clean/drive, clean/drive, clean/drive.

Then we discovered that with the right revs the oil would spit out the pin hole in the fuel pump and hit the block. GRRR.

How to waste a day in your life.
