did you measure at various points to make sure the hole isnt squished??

And is the old bush actually out, or is just the rubber center out leaving the metal outer and giving you your 3mm difference??

I guarantee you they are all the same.

Cheers.

From your pic its the diff end not the body mount end thats the problem yes?
I checked the spares in the shed and as mentioned above the size is the same as the body mount end. The "flange" on the bush looks quite different to your pic (mine are original never changed).
I gather there is no evidence yours have been cut and had different ends welded on?
Please let us know if the suspension experts have an explanation after your visit to get them done.

I hate to ask a silly question but you do reallise the holes are different sized on either side of the control arm?

This means the bush will only go in from 1 side.

the bush is tapered and should have od measurements 48.5mm at the bigger end and 47mm at the smaller end, all the 8 bushes in the rear end are the same size from factory, im just wondering if at some stage some one has made an aftermarket replacement arm that has a smaller bush in it (possably for copy right?) and it has been fitted to your car, i know there are after market arms for xr-xf falcons that have a bigger bush than factory.
all my suipplyers havnt heard of an aftermarket replacement arm but its possable, i would recoment getting another arm.

hi all well spent most of day yesterday finding out why the hole sizes in my trailing arms are different ended up ringing nolathane and found out that the trailing arms are off a sunbird of some sort as the lh/lx kit exclude sunbird from it and the kit i need is a nolethane bush type 16, part n#46024, but didnt have any in stock till half way through next month ,as with ringing superpro they gave me the same answer with part n#spf-0719-80k all dimentions of the bush matched up costing $133 for the two through WA suspension in perth ,but got hold of a bloke this morning and did a 150k trip to his place and picked up 2x trailing arms and threw in the wsay bar for nuthing because he couldnt be bothers taking it off so bushes were out new ones in and back in the car ready for next break to finish it off so there the two part numbers if anyone else comes across this problem again
so cheers for the help all much appreciated

Well there ya - learn something new about these things all the time - I have never come across that before but I have never owned a sunbird either.

Ah of course, for some reason those Sunbirds got softer bushes so I guess it was easier to use an off the shelf bush and change the arm than vice versa

So the Sunbirds aren't good for everything then?
