Hi guys.
Sometimes when I select either reverse or drive in the ute it shudders . This doesn't happen everytime I do it, and there seems to be no real pattern either just randomly does it. The combo is 308, trimatic and it has a 6 cyl diff. A few months ago the rear uni on the tailshaft went which I replaced so it should be fine, and there doesn't seem to be any vibration from the shaft so they should still be good.
Is it the box?
Anyway any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Unlikely to be in the box, unless it's low on fluid. Check the engine and trans mounts first. And that the bolts are tight.

Checked box fluid and all is good. Box shifts well normally and when given a hiding. I'll check the engine mounts and see how they look. Anything in particular I should be seeing...apart from cracks etc?

Most likely cause of shudder is worn clutches.
Could also be low line pressures or leakage past the detent valve but that would create more like a take off bump rather than a shudder.

If it's worse cold, I'd say servo seals.

i had same thing years ago in my 308/trimatic vk,took it back
to pete at welspool autos and he said straight up it was "govener"
on output shaft(in extension housing) changed it and no trouble
