Im hoping to get my car back on its wheels very soon, and have to clean it down to remove all the excess fishoil/wax.... Will it be a good idea to wash the car with straight kerosene? Or Prepsol?

I wash my car all the time with a warm water/mcquires car wash/kerosene mix.
1 bucket of water to a splash of kero and a splash of mcquires.

It works great.Removes tar spots and other shit easily, with the added bonus of keeping the rubbers supple (mmmmmmm.....supple.....)

and it also helps prevent rust.

I often use kero neat to remove heavy tar spots,I cant see a problem using it over the whole car.

I wouldnt prepsol it,it could soften the paint if its acrylic.
Should be ok on 2pac,though..

Bear in mind my car is acrylic.

a little bit of kero is fine, its good for cleaning windows too as long as you buff it off but i would not use it on tinted windows.

the old blokes up the nursing home where i used to work said in the war they used to wash everything with water/kero mainly for the anti corrosion side of it.
and one of them was still washing his wb tonner with half half in 1998

The old painter at work would always use kero when he washed his car , we have been using it a lot lately as a good cleaner , all around the car and under it , it's great stuff .

Mort I use it with my car wash , two caps for old cars , new plastic cars probably don't need it .

Thanks TBM and Woodsy, had to clean all the tar off my Prado after the Council had resealed the roads around my area and the car was covered all over, wasn't sure if Kero was ok so i got the Bowdens Own stuff instead, but it's good to know for the future.

we used to use it to remove rust proofing over spray neat...on a rag new or old cars....but mainly newish
i wouldn't use it on windows but....tends to leave a film of oil over them...windex/metho/thinners works best for them
