LX 4.2lt Engine Colour

Hi all

well the motor's in getting rebuilt and I need to know what the original colour is ..

Rocket Red... or

Chevy Orange

I painted mine VHT rocket red and it didnt look right so I went with chev orange, I think it needs to be somewhere in between to be honest with you.

The correct original colour for that motor is HK Rocket Red. From memory the spray cans that i used were labelled Rocket Orange. Chevy orange is different.

go rocket red for sure it is the genuine colour.

i've got to agree with Makka there. I have used the VHT rocket red in the past and never been happy with it..

Hi Guys.

VHT Rocket Red is not the correct shade.

'Power Plus' & 'Motorspray' brand's Holden Rocket Red is much closer.

Yes I have to agree Terry, I used Motorspray Holden Red. The colour is somewhere between rocket red and chevy orange, and when you panit the 3 the colour variation is obvious.
