A reminder that the following event is on Tomorrow, Saturday 27th.
Mods, I hope you do not mind me posting this here.
Please read if at all interested.
"All, This is for people who live in the Canberra region, on behalf of
Michael Attwell:"
"To all those who can make it for a couple of hours there is a Canberra
Motorsport Supporters Group get together and information day, next Saturday
May 27th at Weston Park commencing around 1.00 / 1.30pm.
Al motorsport participants and supporters are welcome, [bring your friends,
family etc] and certainly bring your racer or tricky street transport, 4 or
2 wheels.
A couple of assembly members and sections of the media have been invited.
Information on the current Dragway submissions will be explained with
information on lodgement dates etc in addition to plans for further
motorsport lobbying.
For those who are "gunna" but not registered with the CMSG yet it can be
done on the day if you wish, there is no cost involved.
If any person or business wishes to be a CMSG sponsor that can be discussed
on the day as well.
Remember, there is great strength in numbers so it is your call, the ball
has started rolling and the more that push it the greater chance of positive
outcomes.
Information is available from www.cmsg.org.au click on CMSG information
day for the basic instructions and an entry to a map showing our location.
Trust we see you there, cheers, Michael Attwell for the CMSG."
Cheers

I am sure the day will not do any harm to our cause and if the people who were present all put in their submissions then it could do a lot of good. I didn't notice any TV camera's present which is a shame.
I only counted 5 drag cars prsent and honestly thought a good deal more would have turned up as a show of support.
I only took a few photo's so lets hope Phil can add his photo's or at least one of us might be able to post them for him. The car park had some very nice cars in it and the Ford performance group ( I am not sure but think that might be their title) had a few good looking vehicles there too.
Cheers

Herne: Please let us all know as far in advance of any further action regarding the canberra raceway.. I'd be more than happy to attend/lend my support!
Though.... if you guys get a stip... does that mean stuggler wont come to WSID as much!??!? Spew!! his vehicles/mates are top class!
Cheers guys

There will be more protests and events of that you can be certain!
I was talking to some of the organisers there and apparantly a lot of the guys present at the BBQ were the very same guys who held BBQ's and other events to get WSID off the ground in much the same manner. Let us all hope that it is as succesful as previously proved.
I can't speak for Struggler but I reckon WSID will still draw the Canberra guys, we would be fools to run events that clash with other decent drag meetings. I am sure that won't happen.
I visited another Drag Racer friend today 'Dave Gruber' he owns and runs the Torana - Strip Rat! He only found out on Wednesday about Saturdays bash and unfortunately he had other plans.
I did ask some friends to send Dave an email but it seems it never got there as they all said "ahh no need, he will know what is on!"
I still don't have Daves email addy but he is coming to see me and the UC one day next week so I will make sure I get all his details then.
Cheers and apologies again to Tiny
