Fastish car but wallows like a beached whale around corners.

At work the 3 apprentices are doing a $500 challenge
They are allowed to buy any car at any price
Modify , sell parts etc... as long as the finished car has a value of under $500

I megotiated with one of my old long standing customers to get an SB Barina I knew he had that needed a head gasket
But it was a good car with new radiator... just no rego
Boy got the car for free
I explained that every part he sold goes into his budget and he could buy parts and modify it for the 'race'

But sadly... 16 yr olds can be mindless tools
He fitted a battery we had laying around cause he wanted to drive it... it was too big... and he broke the dizzy cap putting it in... new one $25
Then he wnated to pull out the aircon.. .cause... less weight = more fast.... and in the process punctured the brand new radiator...

Then being a tool he grabbed a can of black spraypaint ($10) and started grafitti on the cat
Then proceeded to kick the mirrors off.. dash in...and generally destroy a car that could have actaully made him money
He doesn't care... cause it was free... so no skin off his nose right ?>
Now due to its condition the real estate manager has told him to get rid of it cause its an eyesore
So he's losing the car (unless we hise it inside the workshop) and has gained nothing

Bloody kids !!

It's not normal for a manufacturer to leave that sort of "X" badgeing evidence on a rocker cover.
Maybe because it's only a Barina, Holden didn't give a shit? :tomaatit:

I miss this thing. Bought it for $400 with rego to drive while i got my Torrie painted.
Just a few memories i have...
The missus side swiped it the 1st night i had it, painted the damage in house paint.
Broke the accelerator cable, tied speaker wire to the throttle body and hung out the window to tug it to get me home.
Flogged the crap out of it, put a hectic cannon and monster tacho in it (For LOLS).
3 welch plugs fell out while doin a skid for my mate. ( engine mounts were Faaaarked )
Drove it through flood water and hydro'd the motor, pulled the plugs out and cranked it. Threw them back in and bobs ya uncle.
