My LH body plate is black.
Which is right for a Dandenong LH.

Avoid using a wire wheel, especially on a grinder as the tags are only thin alloy and you will destroy them... one of those small ones on a slow drill might be ok. But paint stripper works more then good enough and doesn't make any scratches

That's because all LH engine bays were black. LX were body colour, so the vin tag was as well.My LH body plate is black.

I paint stripped mine also, then used my buffing wheel to bring them up to a mirror shine.

nice tags mate, the missis could put them in het make up bag. what compound did you use?
