Having the steering rack behind the wheel axis means you can quite easily get toe-out on turns. Something that a Torana fails to do in standard form haha

Toe out on turns is set into the steering arm angle so wether in front or behind wouldn't matter.

The angle of the steering column-rear rack wouldnt be that big of a hurdle, do away with the uni and use some form of geared re-directional unit and whalla!

Im pretty sure they make small versions (Ive only seen truck ones)

All well and good, but can you provide answers on any questions?

how would someone go about hooking up the rear rack to the original column shaft?

You don't !!!
This is the point I have tried to make twice in this thread so far
Its designed for more applications than a Torana ... therefore more options

I understand that Datto, but they are marketing it as a bolt in option for LC/LJ torana with FRONT AND REAR RACK POSSIBILITIES

Hence the questioning.

If they were marketing it as a "hot rod front end" then you would assume as per your opinion.

Its a completely legitimate question and one that IS NOT answered by what you've said ;)

You just use two solid unis like most hotrods.......it's not that big a drama........
Just ensure you can clip onto the Commo rack and it's sorted......

The torana setup is the best for non-powered rack, and considering the subi conversion, you wouldn't go rear mounted.....clearance issues are the least of your problems.....

This is a beautiful set up. I have a few questions though.

Let's say I want one for an LH-UC, will I notice the difference on the road?
Will it feel like I'm driving a more modern car?
WIll it make a non standard engine installation easier?
Do air bags handle as well as springs?

All that said could one just use tubular arms on the Torana K-frame and get a similar but less expensive effect?

Thanks in advance.

Dom
