Howdy All,
Have an LX & was wondering if you can get the silver tape that sticks on the triming of the door trims as some of mine has come off. Some motor trimers have told me that you can't so you have to get new door trims. I find that hard to believe as there's no way I'm going to do that as the rest of the door trim is fine. See picture.

You can buy chrome pinstriping at some proper car detailer/spray shops.
Another option is to sand, mask and spray silver spray paint. The same kind of paint that goes on LC tail lights. I'm not sure exactly who sells good pre-spraycanned chrome paint.. but I will be finding out for myself shortly. Gives the same finish.

One of our members used 6mm Chrome pinstriping tape a few years ago and you couldn't pick it. Thats the way I would be going.

^^
Do you sand the plastic back before applying the tape or anything?
How does it handle the curves? and how durable is it?

I was told, if you have a sedan LX, no worries, but a hatch you may have some dramas

I used the tape on my hatch trims. It required 3 joins. You would need to have your face in the trim to pick the joins. I removed all of the old chrome first. Then applied contact adhesive before applying the tape. I felt the adhesive on the mylar tape wouldnt be sufficient. Supertrim in Melb have a tape too. Dont know how good/bad it is?
