Guys i know i hang out a bit but dont really post up alot and its only cause i havent got all that much to show, but i hope to change that in the next few months as we all know building a car takes time and never works out how you plan.

Anyways this isnt about my car but a good friends. The car is a datsun 240z and not a normal one either, it runs a 350chev,c4 box(yes a c4) and r200 diff with 3.5 gears (see's alot of street work and was manual) rolls on 18" wheels with 255/40/18s on the rear and lets just say its setup for anything but drag racing and more track style low and stiff and its a blast to drive.

So what im getting at is we took the car to WSID last wens for the street meet as is in full street trim (not even a street slick) not thinking we would see a crazy time but more wanting to see the speed.

Well i was blown away with what i thought is impossible....it ran a 10.9 and he got kicked off! now if your going to say its super light it isnt, it came in at 2810lbs with driver (he is light 50kg) but still im low 70kg and i went 11.0 and top speed of the night was 126.7mph oh and best 60ft was 1.7

Now he has to cage it up if he wants to go back which will be done in time and get a street slick type tyre and the fun starts. Im just blown away by that time because i have seen what it takes to run a 10 and this car just doesnt add up and will never.

Nice one!! Must be a tough engine. Traction is usually an issue with that much grunt.

He doesnt really understand what it takes to get into the 10s as in the amount of work that goes into some cars because he has never really been into drag racing and more track day (used to have ex whiteline rnd 33gtst skyline)

He got the car 3+ years ago after i found it for him in brissy as he had a stock mint 240z and made he mind up that he wanted a chev in it and rta and engineers said it couldnt be done anymore so as i said i found this one for him. Was built 91-92 by a guy from wollongong and had engineers then sold late 90s to the guy in brissy that used it for club sprints.

But yeah he didnt have that good a run when he got it as it needed a few things sorted that took time and it has also snapped 3cv's on the street and my mild 308 hatch used to outrun him but now he has stuck the auto in it and got custom cv's and shafts made up, he also had a new engine built by my engine builder Ned Sassine from Hercules competition engines at campsie who has looked after me for 5+ years

He is really happy with the car and was thinking a low 12 was all he would see as is but yeah i goes to show irs rear end must work

That is awesome!!! My goal is to have a street car capable of 10's.

Im not sure the LC will make it while still being legal. In Vic anyway :( Damn emissions regulations. Ill still settle for 10 second car on street tyres :P
