I've just come across a 253 with a "VR" prefix and I've misplaced my info on engine numbers.
The owner wants to know what it came out of and I'm looking like an idiot at the moment.
Any help?

Thanks for your quick reply, I was thinking VB/VC/VH, so I wasn't far out.
It was painted red, not blue, so it had me thinking.
Appreciate the help. :clappin:

If it is red it is VB. VC-VH blue. You'll know by the length of the 4 x valley head bolt bosses. Failing that if the number is over 110000 it'll be blue. Under 100000 red. Between, not sure of the breakpoint. Somewhere close to 105,000.

It's red and has a pretty low number, so I guess it's a VB.
Thanks for the help, engine numbers are something I never really worried about too much. My customer is a bit more concerned with what it came out of, I was more worried if it was stolen or not.....I couldn't care less what it's out of as long as it's legit. :driving:
