Brad,

It is a very light(ish) lime green.

I have seen this question asked and answered in the past.

Seen photos of the factory tailshaft, but dont recall seeing a paint code.

Cheers mate

Hi

From the LH parts catalogue. The LX catalogue however says "light green" for v8s

Cheers

I'm confused doesn't that say above the 5lt engine option prop shaft is Rust Brown

While the 4.2 lt is light green

Then i have heard many people say in the past that the SLR5000 shaft was light green

So is it brown or green or did they differ between LH and LX

The original tail shaft in my 76 LX SS 5.0 Litre was light green...until the panel beaters took it for a spin and bent it! The advice of my mechanic at the time was to look for a new one based on the colour. This was in 95

I just painted mine GMH Red to match the engine. My point of reference were the Biante models, which have GMH Red on all their models, even 78 & 79 05 A9X's!!! May not be correct but looks OK.

Posted Image

My question with the parts manual references, was it the whole tailshaft or just a dob of paint on them? Who knows, for all we know they could have been black with a dob of coloured paint. LX5008 may know more.

Hanra you dont need rust brown, that was on the 2.75" shaft for homolagation cars. Light green is correct for your car.
get a sample of the code i gave you and paint a patch ,then put ia picture of it on here so everyone can judge it, cheers Gary

Yes Gary, that was done with your mix. They actually had a listing for International Trucks Goulburn Green used between 1966 and 1971. Thats what this colour is.

Yeah nice way to destroy and original tailshaft huh.... f*ckin wankers.

Rust brown was for A9X's and pale blue was for the Super T10 both had steps in them and the T10's had bigger unis like turbo 400's.

Cool. Well it sounds like I'm onto a winner with this green for the 2.75 LH SL/R 5000 then. Just need to acquire an un-damaged shaft.....
